Abstract

      AbstractThe  Maintenance  of mangrove crabs single  room system requires the  provision  of food  in quantity and good quality, cheap, on time and deliver high production value. One of the available food for  the  growth  of mangrove crabs in Central  Java is  the golden  apple  snail (Pomacea canaliculata), which has a protein content reached 51%. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding fresh golden apple snail with different doses on the growth and survival of mangrove crabs in  a single  room in  the pond system. The  study  consisted of five treatments fresh  golden apple  snail fresh feed at  a  dose  of 5.7,  9,  11 and  13%  / BW/day)  with  5 replications.  The experiment conducted at the beginning of mangrove crabs weigh between 80-100 g. Parameters measured include weight  gain during maintenance,  feed  efisiansi, survival and quality  of  the waters. The results showed, the highest weight gain observed in the treatment of 9% amounting to 92.2 g, while the lowest weight gain observed in the treatment of 5% amounting to 56.6 g. There was no difference in survival in each treatment feed, with the highest survival rate of 100%. The lowest feed  efficiency is  toun  the  treatment of  feed contained 13% of 41.61%.  During  the research, the parameters of qualities water in all treatments was within the range for the growth of mangrove crabs. Keywords: Scylla serrata, golden apple snail, growth, survival, feed efficiency

Abstract

Gift tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) Is one type of fish which are potential to be cultivated intensivelybecause tilapia gift has favorable properties, namely: rapid growth, eating all the food (omnivores),high tolerance to various environmental conditions, and resistant to disease attacks. Seeing the potential of the plant Azolla sp. which is a pest in agricultural land which is very abundant anduntapped by the community then the Azolla sp. used as a natural alternative feed on tilapia seedgift, because the high protein content and amino acid composition essensialnya complete. Thisresearch was conducted in August to September 2010, housed at the Laboratory of AquacultureFaculty of Fisheries University of Pekalongan. With the aim to determine the effect of feeding onthe growth of Azolla sp tilapia gift. The research was conducted based on completely randomizeddesign with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments applied were given doses of naturalfood Azolla sp, ie A = 2%, B = 4%, C = 6%, and D = 8%. Results obtained from the study is oftreatment D showed the highest growth in average body weight with average seed weight 2.81 g,followed by treatment C, B and A, each with average seed weight 1.19 g, 1.71 g, 2.41 g Theanalysis showed that differences in the dose range of Azolla sp very real effect on the growth oftilapia seed gift. While the results of Orthogonal Polynomial analysis showed D treatment weresignificantly different with treatment C, B, A. The water quality of the media during the studywithin reasonable range, the temperature between 29-32 º C, pH ranged from 7.0 to 7.2 and DOranges from 3-5 ppt.Keywords: Azolla sp., alternative feed, Gift tilapia

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to understand the effect of planting space towardsCaulerpa spseaweedgrowth, and to understand the best planting space towards Caulerpa sp seaweed growth. This research did on October until December 2018 in thefishpond of Brackish and Sea Aquaculture Laboratory PekalonganUniversity. This research used complete randomized design (CRD) which consists of three treatment and three repetition. The treatment that applied are 15 cm, 30 cm, and 45 cm of planting space. The Parameter that observed was an absolute weight growth, and water quality. Based on the result of the research showed that the highest absolute weight growth obtained on the treatment of 30 cm planting space that is 73,23gr, followed bythetreatment of 45 cm planting space that is 58,37 gr, and the last, the treatment of 15 cm planting space that is 52,43 gr. The water quality of maintenance media are, salinity ranges from 25-30 ppt, temperature ranges 29-31oC, DO ranges from 3-6, 7 mg/L, PH ranges from (6-8,5), and the brightness is 30 cm. The quality of water during research is good enough to support Caulerpa spseaweed growth.
